Vannesa + Stetson’s Winter Elopement in Snowy Kyburz

The first wedding of the year ended up being a snowy elopement in the El Dorado National Forest in the town of Kyburz, at a local AirBnB. When Vannesa messaged me back in November to photograph her wedding, she was hoping for some snow patches on the ground but we ended up with a full snowstorm, first of the year for the Lake Tahoe area. Snow started falling on the drive up the mountain, and continued all the way through their entire ceremony, stopping right after the first kiss.

Vannesa + Stetson opted for a private ceremony with just the two of them, their best friend Paul to officiate, and Stetson’s parents to help set up and assist with traveling through the freshly fallen snow. All the details were DIY’d by the bride and groom, including the specialty cake that they exchanged during their ceremony.

A true Winter Wonderland, and such luck to have freshly fallen powder the day of their nuptials, a wedding like this couldn’t have been planned any better.
