Fall Portrait Session Along the American River in Folsom

There’s nothing more desirable than fall family photos at sunset in Sacramento… and for this family we also incorporated some maternity pictures for their new addition due this November! This family session took place on the American River in two different Folsom locations (about 30 min outside of Sacramento) choosing Black Miners Bar and Willow Creek Recreation Area, timed for golden hour sunset and a different outfit for each spot. Outfit inspiration for these locations I tend to favor flowy dresses to keep with the magical lighting of Sacramento’s golden sunset, and for fall to lean more into warm earth tones to compliment the season. Most of my sessions are an hour long, but when were are venturing to multiple locations, I do like to add more time… I was hesitant for a two hour session late in the day with a 2 year old, but he did great during the whole session! Only crying when we tried to do some barefoot photos, the kid likes his socks. Lol!
