Sunrise Yosemite Elopement for Katelynn + Shane in May

Getting married in Yosemite is truly an experience, whether you're having a grand wedding at the Ahwahnee Hotel or an intimate ceremony on a cliff overlooking the valley floor. Katelynn and Shane decided to have their elopement in the cool morning hours to escape the heat and the bustling crowds. We kicked off our day in Yosemite Valley to witness the sunrise, and capture some lovely moments, on the valley floor near the boardwalk. Then we headed over to Bridalveil Fall where they were joined by their friends and family for their heartfelt ceremony. Thanks to heavy winter snow, the waterfalls were brimming with water adding an extra touch of splendor amidst the trees.

Before the sun rose high in the sky we took some stunning photos at Lower Yosemite Falls before heading to Glacier Point. Fortunately it was also the day when the park reopened its road leading to the iconic Yosemite location.  Despite facing some traffic while finding parking, once we reached our destination everything went smoothly. It was truly magnificent to see snow capped mountains in the Sierra Nevada against a backdrop of white puffy clouds stretching across the horizon.

All I can say is, “more Yosemite elopements, please.”
