Yeah Yeah Yeahs Performing at The Greek Theater in Berkeley

With the release of their latest album in 2022, Cool It Down, Karen O along with Nick Zinner and Brian Chase of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs started to embark on a small tour last year that only included two cities, New York and Hollywood, CA. Never seeing them live before, my husband and I made the trip to Hollywood from our hometown of Sacramento to see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs live at the Hollywood Bowl. All I can say is the experience was magical! Including a quick hello from Shirley Manson who was only a couple seats away from me. Our seats were AMAZING, being only 7 box seats away from the stage, but I kinda missed being in the GA front for better pictures. iPhones have amazing video quality, but the photos have really taken a downhill turn for low light; so I got myself the Canon G7X, a point and shoot compact camera that can easily fit into your pocket.

When the Yeah Yeah Yeahs announced another round of concerts for 2023, I was bummed to learn that the show closest to me in Berkeley was on a Saturday, which I had booked a wedding…. so the hubby and I decided on another venue to travel to, Seattle’s Marymoor Park. This time we made our way front and center and I got to play around with this new camera, and of course took a handful of videos for memory purposes. All I can say is the images are beyond what I expected! The camera handled very nicely and did not have any lag when pressing the shutter, which led to some amazing timed moments captured of Karen O and the rest of the band! For the Saturday show, I learned my wedding coverage was ending earlier in the day so made the decision to get tickets to see them AGAIN, and just concentrate on the photography portion for the whole concert… and this is the result!
