Ashley + Joe’s February Engagement Session at Sacramento’s Capitol Park

It is Spring in Sacramento! Then it turned into “3rd Winter”…. but for the brief glimpse of Spring we had for Ashley and Joe’s whimsical engagement session, we had some amazing pink spring blossoms and blooms in Sacramento’s Capitol Park.

When I used to work Downtown at XSiGHT, it was pretty easy to just walk a couple blocks to check and see what the trees were doing this time of year, and after being in the same spot for almost 20 years, I grew to learn the change of the seasons and how quickly it can go away. In Ashley and Joe’s case, it was pure luck because we were limited to a weekend, and this was the only weekend I had for them this month! It couldn’t have been planned any better!!! The roses are gone, but the magnolias were putting on a show.. my favorite part about shooting in Capitol Park is that no matter the time of year, there is always something pretty to shoot there, any time of day.

Can’t believe I have to wait over a year to photograph them again for their wedding at Sacramento’s premiere wedding venue Grand Island Mansion… but am happy to see couples getting things checked off early! x
